I am wondering how long it takes by train from Amsterdam to Rothenburg, Germany. Also what train do I need to get on in Amsterdam that will go to Rothenburg??

All in all it will take you about one day (9 - 12 hrs). Use an ICE Train to Nuernberg and then local train, or Bus, to Rothenburg.
