  1. Hello,

Make sure you cover your knees and shoulders any time you enter a church.  This goes for men and women.

Beware of pickpockets!  They could be old ladies or young children.  Just be aware if someone approaches you.

You must ask for the check at the end of dinner.  The waiter wont bring it to you until you do.  they consider it rude and it is like asking you to leave.

Make sure you only use taxis from the taxi rank..   If someone approaches you and offers you a taxi ride, be assured that they will charge you at least twice what the trip should really cost.

Most museums are closed on Mondays.  The vatican museums are closed on Sundays (except the last sunday of the month when it is free and very crowded).

Don't buy drink or food at the major attractions.  The vendors charge at least twice as much as you will pay just a block or two away.

You can use the fountains in Rome to fill up your water bottle.  The water is cold and fresh and free.

    Donna

  2. Read about my experiences in Rome by clicking the link below!

  3. Go to the Coliseum. When you are in line to tour it, you will be approached by tour companies to see other attractions. I am absolutely DEATH on street marketers. BUT, I took a leap of faith and agreed to a tour of the Forum. It only cost 15 bucks. IT WAS AWESOME!!!! By far, the best money I have ever spent travelling. The guy's name was Tony. He was a professor from England. Try to find him. We also had a bonus tour of the Circus Maximus for free. I learned more in two hours than I learned in 4 years in college. There is so much more to recommend, but I'll stop here.

  4. Ok #1 most important rule!! KEEP ALL VALUABLES OUT OF SIGHT!

~ Try not to carry a purse. Do not show flashy jewlery. If u have a ring with a stone or diamond in it turn that part of ur ring inside ur hand so that the band shows on the outside.

    ~Beware of pickpocketers.

~Italians are sum of the most warm and inviting ppl u will ever met but my gosh the pickpocketing! lol

~If u like the history behind Roma, go to all the main attractions there. Collesium, Trevi Fountain, The Spainsh Steps are all beautiful attractions.

~I dont noe how long ur planning on staying but if u have extra time Venice is beautiful a little hard to navigate but beautiful. Or Florence is nice.

Italy is a beautiful country all together. So enjoy
