I am going to travel to Sydey for 3 days. Blue mountains is one of the places that I want to travel. And I plan that I will stay in a hotel in city. Is it possible to travel to there within a day? What way I can go there and how much I will spend on the transport?

One more things. Is Katoomba the same thing as Blue mountains?

  1. It will take you about 1 and a 1/2 hours from central Sydney to the Blue Mountains by public transport.

Return ticket will cost $25, and thats by travelling by train.

Katoomba is a Town located in the Blue Mountains.

  2. Katoomba is a place up the mountains and its really beautiful up there. Its a good place to spend a day. Make sure you go to the 3 sisters!

From Central station-if you go by train- it only takes about an hour to get to the first station in the Mountains. And it will cost about $25 maybe. I do that trip all the time for school excursions. We leave at 10 and we are back by 4. Its great and really worth comming to see the mountains. some of the views are great. If you get a chance there is a lookout somewhere in Glenbrook i think and you can see the suburb below the mountains and its gorgoeus! Have fun  on your trip!

  3. katoomba is the cultural center of Blue Mountains. Go by bus or trainhttp://www.katoomba-nsw.com/

  4. You don't even need a day to travel there. In fact, not even a few hours!

By train, from Central, the distance is 109.92 kms and an Adult return ticket will cost $24.40.

By car, the trip is around 102kms, taking around 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Katoomba is the main town in the Blue Mountains.

I hope this has helped and enjoy your time there :)
