Travel to London advice and costs req'd.?

Question

I need to get from Portsmouth to London Shepherds Bush (Hammersmith and city line). I need to arrive by 2:15p.m.

What is the cheapest way to do it by train (I dont have any railcards).

anybody know which train to leave Portsmouth on?

Get the train from Portsmouth Harbour to London Waterloo - they leave quite frequently, but you can check online.  The cheapest way would be to buy the ticket quite far in advance.  Or if you are travelling mid week during the day you might be able to get a mega train ticket http://www.megatrain.com/uk/index.php .  

The journey should take about 1 1/2 - 2 hours.  When you arrive at Waterloo, you need to get a ticket for the tube - the easiest would be to get a one day pass for zones one and two which you can then use on tube and also buses.
