Travel to the United Kingdom?

Recently, i applied to travel to the UK with my daughter for two weeks of summer holiday on a visit to my cousin that lives there, but the UK high commission in Nigeria denied us a visa citing the following reason: That i have not been able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that my daughter is actually related to me.

Attached to my application were:

1. My daughter`s birth certificate

2. Her school results

3. Her savings account statement

4. A letter from her mother

Can someone please tell how else to prove parenthood?

  1. this is going to sound stupid but im assuming your name is on the birth certificate ?

you need to check the site on our rules when bringing a child you have or haven't got custody of....

and what you need to do

also ring them or ask the british embassy in nigeria

  2. Strange, I would have thought the information you provided would have been enough.

Maybe trying getting in touch with the British embassy and ask why.
