Question:

Travel visas for foreigners in India?

I'm Canadian and I am looking to move to India eventually for about 6 months to a year if possible. I was wondering what the best and most practical visa is that i should get beforehand, and was wondering how to best go about it. I also know i can either get a tourist visa, or an employment visa. But if it's an employment visa, is it even practical to look for work there? Or better to save up first when i can afford to stay for a while, even if it's for a shorter time. Anyway, just looking to see if there's anyone out there with experience in that particular area, thanks in advance

  1. I just answered another of your questions. I say again that I do not know what is your line of work. If you want to check out the place, just save up some, go for a normal tourist visa and then come down. Depending on how you find things here you could come down the next time with an employment visa.

My cousins from Canada have come down here for some short stays on tourist visas and seen life in another perspective.
