Travel within London?

Howdy.

I have to go to the USA Embassy in London. I am trying to figure out what the quickest way from the Embassy (Grosverner SQ, Mayfair, W1A 1AE) back to Lnd Luton airport?

My appt is said to last a max of 3 hours which means I'd get out at 4.30pm (at worst) with my return flight at 7.30pm the same day.

Essentially I need to know the quickest way to the airport given it will be a weekday and likely rushhour when I'm trying to get out of the city. Something I aint experienced before since I live in the highlands!

cheers!

  1. physic's answer is good ... at that time of day the journey up to Kings Cross by bus or tube could hit delays, especially if you don't know your way around. so a taxi would be a good investment

by the way, the address you give is their mailing address (which is in a different part of London) ... their physical address is 24 Grosvenor Square London, W1A 2LQ ... note the different post code

  2. From Mayfair take a black taxi to Kings Cross Station and then take a fast train to London Luton Airport.  It takes about 22 minutes from Kings X but traveling within London may take longer.
