  1. Like most major cities, London can be expensive - especially if you're coming from the US and will be suffering the weak exchange rate.

You will be able to buy everything you need here, but if it's cheaper where you live then try to bring as much with you as possible.

The weather here is unpredictable - 2 weeks ago we had a heatwave and everyone went to work in shorts, vests and flip flips; but this week it has rained non-stop and everyone is back in coats and long trousers. Do bring some sunscreen, or a moisturiser that has some SPF protection in it.

If you're here for a year, then you'll need winter and summer clothes. Definitely invest in an umbrella, a coat or sweatshirt with a hood, and some comfortable shoes. The cheapest way to get around London is walking and public transport (bus, tube) so comfy shoes / boots are a must.

Don't worry though - you really can buy anything you forget once you get here. There are plenty of cheap places to buy clothes, lingerie, bags and shoes.

Enjoy your year in London - it's a great city and I'm sure you'll have a good time :)  If you have any more questions, I'm happy to help.

  2. well yeh most things are expensive in london lol

definately pack an umberella! u wont survive in london without one, it can get pretty hot in summer but you dont reali need a sun cream unless you have very fair skin - maybe spf 10? :)
