Traveling anxiety and court?

If I am subpoenaed to family court to testify in a friends case (out of town)

can I get out of it because I have severe anxiety disorder and cant leave my town? My Doctor knows of this and he is treating me with meds right now and I have had it for years. I wondered if they would take this into consideration and let me do a written testimony or over the phone? Why should I have to suffer just because I witnessed something some one said?

  1. i have anxiety disorder to that causes my epilepsy I'm on meds for it the best thing to do is face your fears and hang with Friends in town to make you feel more conferable with people that will keep your anxiety under control..anxiety disorder controls peoples lives to do only certain amount of things in life .

  2. "written testimony or over the phone" - No, but you could ask to have the attorneys take your deposition (oral testimony under oath taken down by a court reporter) in your home and use that in court in lieu of live testimony.

Edit to add: to 5 answers per day - that is a hearsay document and not admissible into evidence in court, unless the opposing side agrees.

  3. make a formal statement with the attorney holding your friends case. even you are not in the court, formal testimony in letter is accepted but should be done in the right process.
