What is the most straight foward way to get from CDG airport to Montparnesse station?? (I'll have 2 HUGE suitcases with me so the less moving the better.) How much roughly would it cost?

Also, I'm planning on arriving at Montparnesse at 3pm but my train doesnt leave til 8pm. I've been thinking of maybe leaving my luggage somewhere safe and having a stroll around the city for an hour or so. Is this a crazy idea?? i.e, will there be anywhere safe to leave my bags, like maybe lockers or something?

Thanks very much

  1. The easiest way to go to Montparnasse from CDG is by RER (line B). You should change at Chatelet les Halles and take line 4 to Montparnasse. I would not suggest to change at Denfert Rochereau because they are a lot of stairs from line 4 to 6 there. You will pay 8.40 euros.

Then you should leave your luggage at Gare Montparnasse (on level B, open from 5am to 1am).

Then I would suggest you to take the subway (line 4) and to stop at St Michel. There, you will be able to see Notre Dame, the Seine and the atmosphere there is great. This is my favorite spot in Paris.

  2. The best option would be to take the Air France Bus that leaves from CDG to Montparnasse every 30"(with a stop at Gare de Lyon) . One way ticket is 15€. http://www.cars-airfrance.com/

Normally you should fin a locker at Montparnasse, called "consigne" in french,  but they do close it sometimes for security reason (Plan Vigipirate), I don't know what's the situation actually.
