  1. just get a passport... and some form of government ID... just to be safe

  2. call the cruiseline

  3. I don't think you can change your birth certificate. Just make sure you have a certified copy. Most women have different last names because of marriage so it shouldn't be a problem.

  4. You can't change your BIRTH name on your birth certificate.... BUT, you WILL need a PASSPORT to go to the Bahamas so get one quickly!!!  Also,  if your name change was due to a marriage,  bring your MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE with you to show you were married...if it was due to a court order (where you REQUESTED a name change in court) bring a copy of that order to prove how your name was changed.... that's all there is to it..

  5. You cannot change the name on your birth certificate.

You will need that only for this year to get to the Bahamas.  Starting January 1st - you will need a passport.

  6. If your last name changed because of marriage then take a copy of your marriage certificate, just in case.  More than likely you will need documentation when you check in to board the ship and once they are satisfied as to your identity you will not need to carry any further documentation.  The cruise line will issue you a cruise card which is the size of a credit card and is used as your cabin door key, you charge card for anything you buy on the ship, and your pass to get on and off the ship.  You can carry your driver's license with you along with the cruise card and that will be all that you will need.

CAUTION:  There will be new rules for cruising starting January 1, 2008 which will require that you (EVERYONE) have a US passport to re-enter the US.  So if your cruise is completed before December 31, 2007 you are OK.  But if your cruise is next year, you MUST get a passport.
