Traveling by yourself??

ok is it fun, weird, or scary to travel by yourself? i will be traveling from ohio to brazil by myself and i was wondering what it feels like. i have been traveling to brazil since when i was a baby i have family therre and my mom wil be having someone to travel with me (i will not tell you my age for personal rerasons) also i was wondering as a carry on if i could take two musical insrtuments or if i should take just one. also if i should take one out of a gutar (which i still dont know how to play) or the violin (which i kinda know how to play because i learned at school and dont want to forget how to play) which one should i take and if i take an instrument can i also take on another bag with clothes, tooth brush, and stuff i need on the plane ( i know i will neeed these things because i will be sleeping on the plane pz plz plz answer this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've only flown by myself and found it to be a good experience. But I know the guidelines for carry ons is 1 personal item such as a purse or briefcase and 1 other item. Keep in mind that the carry on has to fit in the luggage compartments which only are able to fit a small suitcase. It all depends on the airline. Also, don't forget the liquids rules.
