  1. Well the easiest way would be to fly, but there aren't that many flights between the two airports, and www.opodo.co.uk shows common fares of £200 - £300.

    Both airports have railway stations, though there are no direct trains between them, you'll have to change 2 or 3 times in a journey taking between 4h30m and 5 hours, e.g.

    0820 Stansted ---> Nuneaton 1113

    1120 Nuneaton ---> Crewe 1207

    1238 Crewe ---> Manchester Airport 1311

    or

    0830 Stansted ---> Tottenham Hale 0905

    Victoria Line underground from Tottenham Hale to London Euston

    1005 London Euston ---> Manchester Piccadilly 1224

    1247 Manchester Piccadilly ---> Manchester Airport 1301

    Any journey involving travelling through London will cost more than one that does not go through London.

    The other answer which suggested taking a National Express coach from London Liverpool Street is wrong - the coach station in London is at Victoria, and there are not many direct coaches from London to Manchester Airport (there's one about 0800 which takes about 4h30m).
