Traveling from US to Canada with Ukrainian passport?

I am traveling from US to Canada and back with my Ukrainian passport. I am due for citizenship in about a year, but my Ukrainian passports expires in 01/2009. Can anyone please advise if I can travel to Canada with until 2009 or does it have to be valid with a 6 months window? Should I renew it soon or will it be considered valid for the duration of my stay? Thanks!!!

only Canada/US has an agreement to travel without a passport till 09, as a Ukrainian your  has to be valid with a 6 month window.. so renew it and enjoy your time here.

the duration of your stay in the US is irrelevant to the validity.
