Ok, I'm planning a 22 day trip in Europe by rail. My route by rail is: Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Venice, Milan, Nice, Marseille, and Barcelona. I need some help on good hotels to stay at, any suggestion?

  1. You lucky bugger.

  2. If you mean you have a budget of $200 per night just for hotels that will be OK.  There are lots of decent hotels for about 100 Euros ($160) per night, even in the gaspingly expensive cities on your list (like Venice).

Check the travel sites like airgorilla, expedia, and travelocity.  Also check the hotel websites. For example, Best Western has moderately-priced hotels all over Europe and you can even earn frequent flier miles by using them:  http://www.bestwestern.com/

Consider joining SERVAS, which is a global network of travelers and hosts who have passed a background check. SERVAS will give you local contacts even if you don't choose to say with a host:  www.servas.org

I disagree with freithink. You do NOT have to be "poor" to belong to and use SERVAS. Members are not obligated to stay with a host, and there are "day hosts" who do not offer accomodations but can provide local advice.  You will actually be supporting SERVAS just by belonging to the organization.

Hope you have a great time!

  3. Check here http://www.americacheaphotels.com/Europe...

You can also try hotel search in http://www.AmericaCheapHotels.com where you can read hotel details, reviews and comments, see photos and its physical locations through maps, details about important nearby locations ....

Best thing is you can compare the USA/worldwide hotel prices in any city in any country in your local currency.

You can find good deals because this compares hotel prices from 30 best travel websites.

You can even able to filter out hotel by its features such as Star hotels,Business Center, Room Service, High-speed Internet, Fitness Room, Restaurant Parking, Swimming pool, Pets Allowed, Airport shuttle, Handicap Accessible, Concierge ...

Access lots of USA and worldwide travel information.

  4. You can try http://www.hotelbooklet.com which compares more than 30 popular hotel reservations sites and shows the cheapest rates in the cities you want to stay. Have a nice trip!

  5. If  you have 200 $ to spend a night  and little time ,don´t join Servas (YOU WOULD BE ABUSING THE SYSTEM).

wITH THAT MUCH MONEY TO SPEND ,WHY WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING BUT PICKPOCKETS(watch out for gypsies in Italy in particular)

    Enjoy your budget.
