My friend and I are trying to plan a trip to Scotland and maybe England or Ireland. The problem is getting started... Plus, we will be 18 and 19 when we go, so our parents want us to travel with a larger group for safety. Is there anywhere we can look for a travel company or something that combines small groups and individuals for multi day tours? we want to spend at least two weeks there. thanks..

  1. There isn't really an issue with safety here, or at least no more than in your hometown. You can look at crime figures for various places at http://www.crimestatistics.org.uk/tool/

I'm 16 and have been wandering around by myself, after dark and in the daytime, in more or less "nice" areas, using public transport, going to gigs etc. mostly since I was about 11/12. The only time I have ever had trouble was when I was in a large group.

You are VERY unlikely to be robbed / attacked / whatever, especially if you stick to the nicer areas (i.e. avoid Brixton in London, Easton & St. Pauls in Bristol).

    Hope you enjoy your trip!
