  1. Our unit commander has a policy that we travel in uniform. I agree that with threat levels being as they are it isn't the most wise choice, but I'm still gonna have to do it!

  2. ACUS

and I cant tell you how good it is to see you all in the airport

I think it makes the airports safer too

but I am an Army  Mom

    and I Love Army Boys!

    good luck!

    and thank you kiddo

  3. i am a soldier and i have traveled in uniform a few times. and no people will ask you where the bathroom is. the only time you do not want to travel in uniform is going overseas to a duty station. not to iraq because you are required to wear uniform flying to iraq. but in my case im in germany now and NO i do not travel in uniform for international flights. but statside there is no problem. good luck in WLC. i go next month =]

  4. You are told you cannot because of the terrorist threat...ha...

The only time I flew in uniform was when I had to....which was midtour leave from Iraq....

I always laughed when I saw privates at the airport in uniform. Nearly all of whom did it for attention....

  5. Trust me, you DO NOT want the passengers confusing you with the guardsmen protecting the airport...

...unless you LIKE being asked where the bathroom is every five minutes.

  6. It's allowed.  There was some ALARACT message that came out a while back that said travel in uniform is authorized.

    I went in civilians though.

  7. yes acu's are your only authorized military travel uniform although civilian clothes are recommended.

  8. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO!??!?!?!?!? When I see someone in uniform I always look at them like their an idoit- trying to get attention! I was a Marine for 8 years and I even left Iraq early, and we bought civies in Kuwait and flew back on a chartered plane full of Air Force b/c we had to go through BWI. Terrorist threat is yeah and overseas thing. We used to fly on C-130's through the Philippines and Malaysia and so on in civilian clothes b/c of that. Seriously though it your doing it for the attention, then your a L 7, Square!
