i want to take a trip from philly---->albany on the train cuz it's the only way i can see my cousins and this girl i met. now i'm 15 and able to travel on amtrak alone, but the only thing keeping me from that is my mother. trains are safe, but my mom is worried about me changing trains. any ideas on how i can convince her to let me go? i'm very good with people and mature enough to handle myself alone and i need one amazing point to just nail it home. help?

  1. should not have to change trains should you..are you going on amtrak? get online and find all you can about the entire trip how many changes etc. and then go back to her with a plan....they conducters on the amtraks will come by and tell you to get off when its your station..we just sent my sons friend from jacksonville fl to fayetteville nc...none of us his parents or us had ever ridden a train..but he had no problems whatsoever..they had gotten him a straight ticket..he left at 530 pm and got there at 1 in the morning..he stayed on that train regardless of how many stations it went too...until it was his stop....tell her that you need to prove it to yourself as much as to her that you can do this and that you are growing up..and that you will be fine

  2. The easiest way to tell her is to say you will ask the conductor if you need help. Amtrak employees are top-notch when it comes to helping passengers out.

    hope this helps
