Traveling out of the country

Question

I will be going to Mudanjiang, China in October and I'm not sure what all I need to leave the US and go to China. I know I will need a passport but I am not sure if there are any other things I will need to travel to china. I will be staying there for 20 days. Any info will be appreciated

You need a visa; this can be done online or by visiting the embassy.

If done by mail:

For a tourist visa to China, Chinese Embassy and Consulates require the following:

    * a valid passport with 6 (tourist/business) or 12 (work/student) months validity remaining;

    * at least one blank visa page;

    * a recent passport photo (black & white or color);

    * completed China visa application form;

    * payment (cash, money order or bank check only--$130);

    * a self-addressed prepaid return envelope with postage (FedEx, UPS, Express Mail are preferred);

    * proof of your round-trip air tickets and hotel reservations;

    * a cover sheet that tells the content of the envelope, your contact telephone number and your request.

Make sure your passport's valid at least 3 months after you plan to return home.
