I saw a special thru Liberty Travel it was for 4 nights at the Raddisson, you must travel mid-week and between Aug-Dec 2008 and includes airfare. That is cheap, plus the Raddisson is one of the nicest places down there. Why so cheap...is the Raddisson under contruction or something?

  1. My spouse and I honeymooned in Aruba for 10 days in mid-August. It was absolutely wonderful. The weather was excellent - not hot, occasional daily wind gusts, sunny every day, no rain, or clouds for that matter.

August is also a great time to visit because it is considered the off-season for Caribbean islands because of the hurricane season. However, Aruba is below the hurricane line and is not affected by the seasonal hurricanes that affect the more northern and eastern Caribbean islands. Since it is the off-season, the beaches and restaurants are not crowded and the costs of airfare should be lower.

We stayed at the Radisson in Palm Beach. They underwent a renovation in 2004.  We went in 2005. I would recommend a room in the high tower. We walked to the other major hotels to take a look at their properties, and decided that we made the right choice to stay at the Radisson. It has two great pools, clean cabanas on the beach, a casino, and lots of restaurants on-site and within walking distance. I recommed renting a 4x4 to explore the southern tip of the island where the rocky beaches and desert are located. Have fun!
