Traveling to Australia w/ a Refugee Passport (I131)?

Question

I have just obtained my Refugee Passport, I131. I want to travel to Austraia from July 28, 2008-August 28,2008 how can I do this? Do I need a visa to travel to Australia? Do I need proof of where I will be staying for the month I am gone? I already have my Green Card and as I said above my passport. Also, USCIS informed me that it is only valid for one year, but the expiration date on the passport is two years from now. Why is that? Please help! Or if you know who I should contact for more information.

i would contact australian immigration , if you just turn up they will refuse you entry
