Traveling to Cancun, deciding between grand oasis cancun, riu cancun & riu caribe.Anyone have any suggestions?

I just stayed at the Rui Palace in Cancun the first week of October and it was beautiful.The food was the best I have ever had in Mexico and I have been to Mexico five times. The beach is beautiful and very clear and clean. The staff at the Rui could not do enough for you they were great.If you want to stay at a great hotel stay at the Rui.

Hello I have stayed @ the gran caribe twice, but this was before (wilma). We actually got  married in cancun back in 2002 and stayed here for our honeymoon (back then it was called another name the continental) we really liked it and the food was great. The ocean was really nice. They have upgraded since i was last their and it looks nice. They are in a good area, across from the flamingo shopping and isla shopping. My brother in law stood @ the gran oasis, it's a nice hotel very big, but he was pretty far from us and the walk from the bus stop to his hotel was pretty long (atleast to do everyday). We later when back to cancun & stayed @ the presidente (which i love) and the Riu cancun is near by. I haven't stayed, but my  manager stayed their for 4 days right after wilma and she said it was very nice, food was great, very nice people. The good thing about the Riu is that it's about 10 mins of walking from the main action, clubs, shops, food. It's pretty much the area were everyone goes @ night.  The ocean on the riu side is also very nice.  Like i said i haven't been to cancun since 2004 but i would consider the riu, since it's walking distance to everything and they have a bigger pool. I recently had some clients stay at Grand Oasis, and they had an amazing time. They are newly married and loved every minute of their time in Cancun, especially as the husband will be going to Iraq for 6 months any day now.

On the way back to the UK, their plane was delayed by 24 hours and so, Thompson holidays put them in the RIU Las Americas. They couldn't wait to leave. Not only did they say that the Hotel is so big that it doesn't let any sunshine onto the beach area, but after being spoilt in Grand Oasis for 10 days, they told me they would never stay in a RIU compared to Oasis... I will be staying at Grand Oasis myself this weekend, as i need a break too... and I know before I go, that I'll have a great time there.

For me.... Oasis above RIU any time !!!

Would even put people in Gran Caribe Real before RIU.
