Traveling to Curitiba? When?

Hey there, I'm planning to travel to Brazil next year. Destination? Curitiba (main city of Paraná state)

Well, I was wondering what is the best time for being there. I like to walk a lot, take pictures, visit important architecture. I dislike beach, nightclubes and parties. Given that I like to be mostly outdoors, I don't like extreme temperatures, I prefer a temperated weather... You might be thinking it's weird because Brazil has a reputation for its high temperature.

So, has anyone been there? Please suggest me a nice date for my trip. Thanks a lot.

  1. I´ve been there...it´s a very nice city...you will like it!

You should go there in summer (Jan./Feb./Mar.)...Despite Brazil´s fame of being "tropical country", Curitiba is located at 935 meters (3065 feet) above sea level, and it´s the coldest state capitol of Brazil.

Average winter temps. are 8C.(46F.) to 18C.(64F.)...but it can reach as cold as -5C.(23F.).

Summer temps. are more pleasant to enjoy outdoors...17C.(62F) to 26C.(79F.).

    Have a nice trip!!!

  2. Curitiba is South, and South is temperate climate, just like santa catarina e rio grande do sul. Is consider a very clean organized city in South America.
