  1. Personally, if you're not rich, it's not worth it.  Yes, you'll have free alcohol, which being 17 you cannot partake of, a more comfortable chair and better food and service, however you'll have a lot more fun with the extra money once you get off the plane and into Europe.  It's like if you were going to rent a car, would you spend an extra $2000 for a Mercury Sable or be happy with the Ford Taurus and the $2000 to spend at your destination.  No matter where you sit you're on a boring plane with a boring in flight movie.  If you time it right, you'll probably be asleep half the time anyway.  I've been in both sections (though I was a tween when I was in the first class) and it's not really worth the extra money if you're paying it yourself.  If you don't need the extra $2000 in Europe, spend it when you're in College or plan another trip (that's plenty of money to see some nice sites here in the states).  Believe me, the memories from an extra week or two in a chosen destination will far outweigh the 8-10 hours or so when you're, let's face it, stuck on a plane either way.

  2. I'd certainly take the 2k and spend it in Europe rather than on the flight.  What about compromising and upgrading to business class?

  3. Ell NO! You pay lots more and get there at the same time as those who paid lots less.  Save you cash to spend on the trains and soveniers.  Duh!  That is a no-brainer.  It's like do you have to pay more to sit in the front of the bus in a slightly wider seat.  You saved your money and you know how hard it was, so spend it over there since the dollar doesn't go as far as it used to.  First Class is for those whos businesses are paying the fare.

  4. I don´t think so, but then, I´ve never had $3500 to spend on airfare.

When I toured Europe, I paid $1200 for my ticket, and spent about $2000 touring the continent.  So.  I would have had nothing left!

If you can afford the airfare, and still have enough for what you want to do, go for it.  They get a bigger, more comfortable seat, more leg room, and more room to lay out, and better food.  But as they say...the people in First class get to the same destination as the people in coach, and they don´t get there any sooner, either.

  5. first class or coach...either way you will get there...only thing is..its mnot unusual to get bumped flying coach

  6. either way you will be spending a lot of $$ so if your want to get there comfortable 1st but if you dont mind sitting with some musty fat guy name buck, and get of the plane with back problems choose coach

  7. Enjoy Europe is awesome

    Im german :)

first class has bigger seats and they're way more comfortable and you have A LOT MORE leg room.

I always fly economic which is half as much

if you're willing to pay $2000 for a flight then go for it.

but you could be using that 1000$ for spending money in Europe.

  8. Well, it depends on what you want to spend your money on.  If you get a first class ticket, your seat will probably lay about all of the way back, which is nice for a long flight like that.  The seat will also be more comfortable and have more space inbetween people.

If you don't fly first class, there will be less room inbetween people, your seat will not go back as far and you will have less leg room.  Also, in first class you won't have to wait as long for the bathroom.

I have flown both first class and coach...personally, I would save the $2000 and use it in Europe rather than on a better seat.  I just happened to get bumped up to first class, which was great, but I would never pay for it with money I had earned, and could spend in Europe or on something else fun.

    Good luck!

  9. Have flown to Europe in coach and first class. Save your money and go in coach. Dress comfy, take music, laptop, book, something to entertain you (it's a long flight) and snacks. The airline food is c**p and some may soon be charging for it. At your age you will do fine, besides you will be so jazzed up about going it won't matter what kind of seat your in. Read up on ways to travel on a budget and make your money go further. Save your hard earned money and go have the time of your life in Europe.

**Good for you being a working teen, that's something to be proud of!**

  10. I was wondering the SAME thing when I first went to Europe bro. Italy to be exact! I finaly went with COACH. Im glad I did!!!! And Ill tell you why........Once you get to Europe you will be so happy you have all that extra hard earned money to use! Coach is really not that bad on any of the airlines to be honest. So Id just pay coach and enjoy that money saved elsewhere! That help?

  11. well if you can afford it I would..traveling is such a hassel now...and cramped..go first if you can..

  12. its not worth it. Mainly all you get is a more comfortable seat and a small pillow. I would just ride regular....Plus you probably wouldnt like all the people giving you dirty looks as they are on their way to coach.

  13. yes totally i going to europe and im already a $30,000 so whats a few more thousand

  14. well i been to europe several times now and i dont think its worth it to be 1st class. the plane i took, not 1st class, had a tv on the back of every seat and u could watch movies, shows, play games, ect. and it kept me pretty entertained (: the first class isnt worth 2000 dollars, besides ur gonna need that money to spend in europe [x

    have fun!

    (:

  15. IT IS NOT WORTH, because its just traveling, plus, you are not rich, and you have to work hard to get those money. I recommend you to buy a regular class ticket, there are some advantages, for example, if you buy a first class ticket for $2000, and a regular ticket for $1000, so you could save $1000 traveling to another country again. Another advantages is you could buy something worth from Europe, like you couldn't buy it where the place you live.

  16. no way save your money and spend it on things when you get to europe or just save it. as long as you are on a plane and you get there its fine.

  17. I think it might be worth it if you can spare the money.

    It's a very long flight.

Depending on how enjoyable and luxurious you are desiring youre trip to be, you can decide if its well spent money.

  18. Well when I flew first class, which was only once, I wasn't impressed at all.  I'd save the $2,000 and use it for something better.
