  1. Your in for a treat. You won't find a lot of widely distributed, but you will find great local and regional. Try them all. They have a tremendous amount of rivalry, and pride in their local beers,  so be careful not to offend.

  2. You will find out when you will get there.

  3. too many brands to say which is the best.

we own a restaurant and I can tell you that Bitburger is the most tabbed beer in germany.

some beers are well known all over germany like

Krombacher, Warsteiner,Becks,Erdinger,Königs Pilsener,Radeberger,Veltins,Hasseröder and many more.

Every region has its own special beer and men from that region swear that this beer is the best.

northern beer is usually more bitter, in Bavaria they like Weiss-beer,in Cologne they prefer Kölsch, in Düsseldorf they swear that Alt Beer is the best and in Berlin its Schultheiss and so on. Can't say.

Try a good one like Einbecker, Krombacher,Radeberger and than make up your mind what you like most.

and try a fresh beer from the tab, thats much better than any bottled.

    Prost

  4. every town got their own brand, its not like Miller or Bud here. every citiy has their own brand, just try a few. Have fun

  5. They have so many different beer in Germany and is not easy list all that here. You need to drink few and find out which one you like.

    P R O S T......

  6. I don't know if it is widely distributed, but I would go with a tall glass of Franziskaner...it is an unfiltered wheat beer, and it is delicious.

  7. I'm not a beer drinker,   but my husband liked Parkbrau and Barbaroosa Kaiser Pils.
