  1. When I went a few years ago I had $500 for spending money for about 2 weeks. It just depends on how much you're planning to buy, souvenir-wise, and how much you're going to spend on food.

  2. It is not that expensive,  there are a lot of  restaurant  that have meal for an average of 700yen, drinks are available everywhere for around 120yen, you can buy food such as rice ball or bread for around 120yen in the convenience shop, there is also the 100yen per sushi set restaurant.

Transportation can cost a lot, do you have the JR train pass ?

There are 100yen shops, like the dollar shops you have in the States, were you can find good deals and cheap gifts ;-)

  3. 10,000 yen for each day is good. It means 140,000 yen for 2 weeks.

If you don't buy so much, you can manage it only with 100,000 yen.

  4. Without accomodation and transportation, what you have to pay for would be food, playing and souveniors mainly I think.

Once you say traveling to and fro, you need to eat and shop something for memory and expense daily cares.

The price in Japan might be not so expensive if you choose it very carefully as everywhere's local who knows how to get thing very well.

I think budget as US$80/day besides the subject you mentioned would be moderate for standard living life of foreigners in Japan.

Don't bring much cash but credit cards better.

  5. haha! Japan is techinically the most expensive country in the world. Yeah, you wouldn't believe how much the money just falls out of your pockets. I'm not sure where all the money goes; suvinors, food, sweets (sweet are 3 times as expensice than in America), icecream (they have the best icecream around), the train rides add up but you said you have taken care of that...

    2 week?

800 dollars should do ya I think.. yep =] enjoy.
