My husband and I will be traveling with an 18 year old and her boyfriend who is a little older. Looking for a fun and relaxing resort, something a little more adult oriented.

Has anyone stayed at an all inclusive? If not how are the food/activitiy prices at non inclusive resorts?

I can't decide if we should go with all inclusive or not...

Oh yeah, we would like to stay on the west coast. :) Puerto Vallarta would be nice...

  1. I prefer all inclusive we useally drink our moneys worth on vacation these are AI and Adult only in Puerto Vallarta Golden Crown Paradise resort, Casa Velas Boutique Hotel, Villa premiere Hotel and Spa

Make sure to read the reviews on trip advisor right before you book --it;s nice to hear what others thought who have just been.

  2. We did a lot of research on our resort - www.travelocity.com has reviews from past guests of all the resorts in Mexico - especially Cancun.

I would suggest picking a resort that does NOT allow kids. There are a lot of adult only resorts now a days that are also all inclusive.

By far it is much better than doing the alternative and having to pay for everything once you are down there.  Make sure you pick a resort that has several restaurant and options in dinning. I wouldn't go to any resort that has less than 3 restaurants.

The palace resorts are nice because you will have access to all the palace resorts not just the one you are staying at.  In addition because it is an all inclusive resort that increases the amount of places you can eat at to almost endless during your stay.  This also includes all your alcohol.

Activities - almost all resorts have nightly entertainment of some sort I would check to make sure. The less you have to pay when you get there in my opinion is better. Much easier to have most if not all of it paid for before you arrive and the only way to do that is to do an all inclusive resort.

    Have fun!

  3. I would consider a pair of modest RV Van Conversions, and FRS walkie talkies to talk between vans. Rented or borrowed, the freedom is priceless. Regards, Larry.

  4. I like to stay at the Mayan Palace, usually one week at the Marina and one week at Nuevo Vallarta. The one at the marina is walking distance to many restaurant's and shops at the marina malecon and a short taxi ride or cheap bus ride to downtown. The one at Nuevo Vallarta is really away from it all but there is plenty there to keep you happy including a newly remodeled Jack Nicklaus golf course, several restaurants and a disco. I would not go all inclusive if you are staying near town as there are so many great restaurants and so much to do.

  5. I think all inclusives are wonderful. You don't have to choose among 1,000 restaurants, some of the best in Mexico, and the best in the world. You don't have to go to the clubs downtown and dance the night away. You don't have to meet Mexicans, since most of your hotel mates will be from the USA or maybe Canada. You don't have to discover the culture of Mexico. You can feel comfortable in your own coccoon. That is a very good feeling.
