Traveling to Netherlands / Voltage Converter?

I'll be traveling to the Netherlands next month and I will be needing to buy a voltage converter. The only thing I'll really be needing it for is my flat-iron, since all my other items are dual voltage. I was thinking about using the Jensen converter from Best Buy. Does anyone have any experience with it? Or any other recommendations for me?

I would recommend looking for a dual voltage flat iron, as sometimes even with the converters you can have problems, as in frying the outlet or the appliance, from personal experience.  Then you don't have to worry.

A voltage converter that is able to convert more than thousend Watts is heavy and won't be cheap. Consider buying a cheap flat-iron in the Netherlands. You should be able to find several types for less than 25 euro in most big warehouses. Try HEMA, they sell good stuff for low prices, nothing fancy though.

Another option: if you are staying in hotels: almost all hotels have a flat iron for you to use for free.

A dual voltage converter is fine but make sure you get the right one. Most standard ones are good for electric razors etc. but you need a more powerful converter for larger appliances. Tell the clerk how many volts your flat iron uses. You should be able to get the more powerful one at the same stores only they won't be quite as easy to come by. It is good to ask though because I have started fires in Hotel outlets.

Some hotels have dual voltage outlets but they are for electric razor voltage only.

A dual voltage flat iron would work, but if you buy another appliance later you will have the same problem again.

The higher voltage converters cost about the same as the lower voltage ones . (A lot cheaper than a pair of wooden shoes in Holland  lol)

Any cheap standard voltage converter will do from a Best Buy or from a luggage store as well! Have a good trip
