Traveling to Paris?

Question

going to Paris for the first time and searching hotels ...can anyone help as to where would be the best areas or places to stay ...also anything i should not miss while im there...thanks in advance

Are you afraid of heights? The first thing that pops into my head everytime I think about my trips to Paris is going to the tops of the Eiffel Tower and going on top of the Arc de Triomphe. They do charge you for both but it is minimum for the memorable view you'll have forever. Other notable things that are a must see for me at least were in no particular order. The Louvre Museum, most famous museum in the entire world (Mona Lisa, Winged Victory of Samothrace, Venus de Milo, etc.. ) Notre Dame- Most famous Cathedral in the world right on the banks of the Seine River, lots of street vendors and flower carts and stuff like that. Sacre Coeur- Another amazing Cathedral in the north end near the Moulin Rouge(might as well see while you're int he area, lol) If you have the time and money, I dont remember how much it was but take a boat trip on the Seine.

As far as places to stay...I stayed at some generic hotel in the north end near the Moulin Rouge when I went. Very affordable, very quaint. I wanna say it was something like a Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn name something like that. It was a short walk to the subway. Learn to use the subway early on. It's the fastest, easiest and by far cheapest way to get around. Have a great time

It all depends on how long you want to stay and your pricerange.

All the "classy" hotels like George V are on the "Rive Droite". As you move out of Paris they will keep getting cheaper. The cheapest hotels are from chains like Accor, Campanile or Formule1 and are mostly found in the close suburbs. What you can also do is stay at one of the Disneyland hotels and then take the shuttles or the train into Paris.

Well of course you gotta climb the Eiffel Tower and visit the Louvre. The "Ile de la cité" (Notre Dame, Conciergerie....) is very nice, the Tuileries gardens in the summer, take a walk down Rue de Rivoli and go shopping on Les Champs Elysées...

If you can, try to take a tour out of Paris to Versailles to see the castle.
