  1. 5 months old child, is difficult for finding things to do.

The child would probably be too small for OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industries)....

You have the Washington Park Zoo, off Hwy 26, West of Downtown

There is a couple cruises on the river, one is an actual riverboat ride

There is a Junior Museum in downtown, near Portland State Univ.  That would be less crowded and be mostly small children

There is the Oak Park Amusement Park downtown

Go On line and look for the Portland Chamber of Commerce web site, or if you are a AAA member, they have pamphlets of Portland attractions

  2. The Oregon Zoo, the Children's Museum, and OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry).  There are lots of parks in the city and near the city.  I recommend also a trip to Mt. Hood, the Oregon Coast, and the Columbia River Gorge.

  3. go to www.livepdx.com!  you can always find lots to do, that way you can choose out of a lot of different activities!

  4. He's a little young to enjoy anything, so you really should be looking for places that he can be without disturbing others.

Here's a good website to start looking:  http://www.oregon.com/attractions/family...  My personal favorites:  The Oregon Zoo http://www.oregon.com/trips/oregon_zoo.c... and Portland Saturday Market http://www.oregon.com/trips/portland_sat...
