Traveling to Raleigh North Carolina ?

I’m going to be in Raleigh NC for a week from Sept 7 to Sept 14th for training, anyone have any suggestion on traveling ideas? Since during the week, the training is over at 5PM, I can only hang out in the local are and I have a one Saturday to travel long distance. Anyone have any suggestion on where to hangout, where to eat, etc? Thanks in advance

Check out downtownraleigh.com, downtownraleigh.org, and indyweek.com to see great lists of all the local restaurants, bars, nightclubs...plus any special events going on in the area.  They should give you great info on all there is to do in the area.

Try the Glenwood South area.  Lots of restaurants and bars.  Great place.

As for specific restaurants, I recommend Nofo at the Pig at 5 Points (Glenwood Avenue and Fairview).  Try the Shrimp and Grits.  Nice time of year to sit outside.  Right below/next to it is a great coffee house called The Third Place.  (Also a fantastic pizza place called Lilly's.)
