  1. Buy a Lonely Planet travel book on Spain. It's loaded with a lot of great information.

  2. Definetly visit southern Spain, this is where much of the Spanish culture is!  I  lived in Spain for almost 3 years.  Stay away from Gypsies (offering to read your hand) they pickpocket.  Spain (and Europe in general) has an excellent public transportation system of buses and trains, usually costing $1-$4 but if you're traveling for the first time, you might want to walk places so you can stop and see things.  The people in the south are very friendly, they are very open, especially if they see you're taking the time to learn and become part of their culture.  There are plenty of discotecas and dance clubs open at night, you might enjoy those.  Definetly be open to the food, try everything at least once.  They have some wonderful dishes that you'll wish we had here in the U.S.

    Have fun!

  3. Siesta

Wake up early then chill during the afternoon and go out late. Dinner about 10 in the evening is about right

Pickpockets are common in the big cities.

    Enjoy yourself

  4. Spanish is my first language but we are supposed to speak in English here.

If this is your first travel to Spain I will recommend to visit Barcelona and Madrid.

Barcelona is a cosmopolitan city with lots of history, architecture, good eating, night life, etc. Take the touristic bus in front of El Corte Ingles at Plaza Cataluña, it will take you to the principal attractions like La Sagrada Familia, Parque Guel, La Ciudad Olimpica, la Diagonal and the water front. I will also recommend to take the cremayera train up to the Tibidabo, is a small beautiful amusement park in the top of a mountain overlooking the city. A walk in La Rambla and the Barrio Gotico are a most.

From Barcelona you can go to the beaches along the Costa Brava or to Tarragona(look for Port Aventura amusement park).

The capital City of Madrid is also beautiful but very different. Stay near La Gran Via where you can walk thru the center of the City. A visit to El Prado Museum, Las Civeles Fountain, El Palacio Real, Casa de Campo and the Zoo shall be in your itinerary.

From Madrid you can take day excursions to Segovia and Toledo.

Another interesting City to visit is Valencia where you can go to La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. The European largest aquarium is there and also and excellent Imax theater.

I love Spain and I have family there.

  5. just a little test in spanish, answer this questions in spanish and just add them to your question.como te llamas? de donde eres ? en que estado vives? que musica te gusta? cual es tu pelicula favorita? te gusta el soccer? si te gusta tienes suerte, vas a ir a la capital del soccer de todo el mundo. i have seen people that think that they speak spanish, how good are you? eres hispanic?
