I will be spending the summer in Galway, Ireland and would like to also travel to The Championships Wimbledon. I was wondering the cheapest way to get there and back. Thank you.

  1. A flight from Shannon airport to one of the London airports should be fairly cheap if booked early (there are various websites - try googling), and buses (& maybe the London underground) will sort you out the rest of the way.

The suggestion above of hitchhiking may get you across Ireland and England, but you'll still need to pay for a ferry across the Irish Sea. Frankly, the flight could well be cheaper. If the ferry option appeals to you, there are certainly cheap buses from Galway to Dublin, so perhaps bus/ferry/bus would work.

  2. I think Galway Airport is your best option. It's about 8 miles out of the city. You can fly from there to London Luton airport. Flights would cost less than 200euro return. Check the airline here... http://www.aerarann.com/

  3. hitch hike would be the cheapest but its kinda dangerous
