Hi, I will have a naturalization interview on July 22 and will travel to Singapore within 1 week after the interview. If I pass the interview on July 22, will they take back my green card on that day? Since I need to travel to Singapore within 1 week, so I think I still need the green card for the traveling , I think I can't get a new US passport in that short period.

Thanks....

  1. You will be able to travel to Singapore after the interview.

Assuming that you pass the interview, you will be notified in writing where and when the oath will take place.  It is at this point that you will be an American, not before.  Therefore, they will give you your green card back at the interview.  You cannot apply for a US passport until you have your naturalization certificate, which you will get when you take the oath in exchange for the green card.
