  1. Everyone in Playa del Carmen speaks English - it's a tourist town. I highly recommend alicante spain, you will LOVE it!!!

  2. From your list, I would say Vejer de la Frontera is the least touristy.  But if you want to get away from them even more - I would suggest looking at La Ceiba, Honduras or Cuenca, Ecuador.  Maybe even San Cristobal de las Casas in Mexico - or possibly Queretaro, Mexico.  Although it looks like you are focusing more on beach locations, in which case I would say La Ceiba is going to give you great beaches and very few people from the U.S.

  3. First off I'm only in 11th grade but I went to Spain as a Sophmore. Its a beautiful place. I want to move there. I didn't go to any of the cities on your list. But where I went, the only places where the people spoke any English were the hotels and touristy places. It really got me to practice my spanish. I went to Mexico over the summer. Actually it was playa del carmen. I'd say about 90% of the people spoke English and it was very touristy. definently do not there. I say Spain, amazing culture.
