Question:

Traveling with my bearded dragon?

I have a female bearded dragon, she is about 8 yrs old (I really am not sure, I have had her a few years and the people I got her from werent sure how old she was). In August I am moving to Miami from Virgnia Beach and wondering how to travel with her. I had planned on packing up her tank, etc and putting her in a cat carrier for the ride, and giving her apple and snow peas (her favorites) to help her de-stress some. I have taken her on small rides, to the pet store or something and she does well but she is always sitting on my shoulder then. Any tips on how to travel with her? I dont want to part with her.

  1. What about buying a cat litter box with a cap and swinging door.  When we had our bearded dragon his cage had sand-like litter in the bottom with his heat rock.  You can put whatever you usually keep in the tank in the bottom, and then buy some of the disposable heat packs (for your neck or back) to keep him warm.  If you are worried about them getting out, just tape the door shut.  I don't know how well this will work for you, but we never travelled with ours.  Good luck.
