hi . i was wondering if when you go through the panama canal , do you pay for just the boat ( size ) and do you also have to pay for each person also .

what was it like , on a small boat going through ? i bet amazing ! thanks and have a good day .

Currently the fee for a 50' or less boat is $500.00 U.S., there is no additional fees for passengers.  You can see time lapse video and a lot of others on U-tube.  In fact you can get the full schedule of fees.  The lowest ever was 32 cents, I think in 1919 or so.  A guy swam through the canal!  I hope this helps.  BOL.


  2. In transiting the Panama Canal, there are also some other costs involved.  You must have sufficient line to reach the deck of your boat from the top of the canal to your boat when the level is lowest, at least 2 sets.  Also, keep in mind plenty of fenders to protect your boat

    You must also have line handlers (persons that tend to the lines as the boat is raised and lowered in the locks).  Often these are persons that are hired at each end of the canal.  The wages for these persons do vary.
