  1. Buy the tickets locally. Use the CD (Czech Railways) national fare calculator at www.jizdenka.cz (option to get the interface in English - click the Union Jack).

    Prague hl.n --> Brno   238 Kc 2nd class, 357 Kc 1st class.

    Brno --> Plzen 339 Kc 2nd class, 508 Kc 1st class (that's routed back via Prague anyway)

    £1 = 30 Kc

    A lot of fares seem to have increased a couple of weeks ago (1 day 2nd class adult network ticket from 390 Kc to 440 Kc, for instance). See www.cd.cz and press the "english" button at the bottom for more info.

  2. Just buy the tickets when you are there.

    I just priced some tickets, using tomorrow's date

    Prague to Brno  at 250-325Kč...that's about 10 GBP

    Brno to Plzen  at 90-150 Kč...that's about 5 GBP

  3. Don't buy before hand, its just a waste of money.
