Travelling around the world- advice needed?

I am planning to travel around the world next year. I will be traveling through the countries mostly in south for over 6 months, but no more than 1 year. I keep hearing about people who have traveled around the world for long period of time, and while making a living in each country they visit? How do u do that? Where do you live? How do you travel within 3rd world countries? How do you work?

In a word you DON'T ( at least not legally) unless you have a skill or talent that those countries are seeking!
