Is anyone able to reccomend me good sites where it would be possible to learn about the train transfers from Milan to Florence? Our flight will touchdown in Milan Bergamo about 17:30 then we will be getting the bus into Milan before getting a train down to Florence, how easy is this to do, and how much should we expect to pay?

thank you

  1. just go to a train station and u might hav to get connecting trains but it shouldn't be more than 20-30 euros and that might even be too much.

  2. Some other people have given you a link to the Trenitalia website - this is the English language version of the same site. http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

    There's another option to the bus to get to Milano Centrale station. You can take the bus to the Bergamo train station and catch a train there to Milan or alternatively to Verona to transfer to a train to Florence. During off-peak hours this is a viable alternative. However, as someone else pointed out, you are arriving at rush hour. Your best option is to take the bus from the station to Milan as you already plan to do.

    The Eurostar trains run on the hour between Milan and Florence - you have a shot at making the 7 pm train, and should have no trouble catching the 8 pm one. 2nd class fare is 33 euro. You will have a specific coach and seat assigned - the info will be on the ticket.

    This is pretty easy - just time consuming.

    This is the airport website which you may find useful: http://www.sacbo.it/Airpor/portalProcess... There's a link to public transportation information.

  3. www.ferroviedellostato.it

  4. 19:00 MI Central

    21:44 Firenze

    €33. 00 per person  2nd class

    it's the best way

    next is

    Milano Centrale 20:00 Firenze S. M. Novella 22:44

    www.trenitalia.com or .it

    it that's the same

  5. The bus ride from the airport in Bergamo to Milano Centrale Station won't be short, check how long it takes and allow for traffic, 5.30 is rush hour.

    Check on www.trenitalia.com for trains from Milano Centrale to Florence, there should be plenty of direct trains also in the evenings. You might want to book in advance to make sure you have a seat.

  6. vaffanculo! vai in cu lo!

  7. The best bet is to take the Eurostar. You can book tickets in advance on www.eurostar.com

    It is more expensive than the "normal" train but you can book a numbered seat which is definitely worth it and it takes about half the time.

    Once we got stuck in Florence and had to go back to Milan. We hadn't booked a return on the Eurostar so had to get a normal train.

    It turned out that there was a train strike the next day so all the trains were several hours late.

    When the train arrived, it was packed so full that you could hardly stand up, let alone sit down.

    The train took 5 hours to get there in the end and I thought I was going to die (OK. am exaggerating but only a bit)

    I think the Eurostar is worth every penny (sorry can't remember exact price but it will appear on the site).

    Have fun!

  8. I'm Italian.

    From Milan Bergamo you have to go to Milan Central Station. You can take a taxi or a bus in the airport.

    When you arrive in Milan Central Station, you have to take a train to Florence.

    I leave you link of italian company of train: Trenitalia. In the website you can search when is the first train from Milan to Florence.

    When you are in the main page of the web site:

    -Da dove vuoi partire? means From where you want to leave? ---> Milano Centrale (you have to write it in italian)

    - Dove vuoi arrivare? means Where you want to go? ---> Firenze

    -Quando vuoi partire? means When you want leave?....

    giorno=day

    mese=month

    anno=year

    ore=hours

    minuti= minutes
