I have 5 1/2 weeks to travel from Buenos Aires to Lima (by Bus). Is this enough time to travel relaxingly and do I have enough time to go to Iguazu Falls or would this be too out of the way? I don't want to be too tight for time as I have a plane to catch in Lima.

  1. Yes You have time..But you will spend alot of time on buses

The journey from Buenos Aires to Iguazu falls takes about 18 hours nonstop

and getting from Iguazu to Peru will take you 2-3 days non-stop

so you might spend like 4-5 days of taking buses

if you could afford it I would try and take domestic flights

Like from Buenos aires to Iguazu falls on the Argentine side and go by land to Brazil..this will save you 19 hours

I would also take a Plane from Like Iguazu to Rio de janeiro or Sao paolo and save yourself a whole day of travel

Land travel between Brazil and Peru has been very sparse due to the limited and poor quality roads. There are, however, plans underway to construct major roads connecting Sao Paolo to Lima, and Iberia in Brazil to Puerto Maldonado in Peru. In the latter region there already is a (muddy) road going to the Brazilian border, which you can access via a few min-busses and trucks, but most people prefer to be ferried by boat.

    Have a wonderful trip!
