Travelling from Cherbourg to Lacanu via Paris,any tips please?.?

I am going to France next week for a few days. I would like to stay somewhere between Cherbourg and Paris for a day or two ,and commute to Paris by train,problem is finding hotels without going through "agents" who wont give me booking confirmations for 48 hours. Anyone know some small hotels?. Also I would like some tips on a route from "Paris" to Bordeaux which would take in some places to see as I intend to return to Chebourg via toll roads to save time, and consequently plan a leisurely trip south. Thanks in anticipation.

You may drive from Paris to Lacanau via some of Loire Valley castles (Chateaux Loire). I would recommend Chenanceuax and Chambord.

While in Lacanau you should also visit wineries in Medoc. Enjoy your surfing (I guess that's the reason why you're going to Lacanau)

you've made a mistake ... it's not "Lacanu", but "Lacanau" ... I've ever been there during summer 93'

I don't know hotels near Bordeaux, Paris or Cherbourg ... I live in Brittany .. but I hope this information (Lacanau) will help you or others responders ...
