I'd advise you to fly into one of the smaller London airports like London City Airport or Luton Airport and then get the train to Bedford. Do some research via Google as it's a bit lazy posting this question here expecting someone else to do the work for you.

Closest airports are probably Luton and Stansted. Call a taxi from Bedford to pick you up from the airport and take you to the hospital.

Flying into which airport - If its stansted your not too far perhaps an hour drive. Use AA route finder.
