  1. There are buses straight to Elswick from the main bus station.(try the one under Eldon Square, thats a big one).I havent got one recently but have in the past.Try going on the local bus websites(Go ahead Northern & theres another one).Go northeast have a web site just type in GoNortheast to get it.

  2. The number 1 bus goes through the city centre, past central station, past newcastle college and through Elswick.

  3. if u r getting the bus go on stagecoach website these r the only buses brave enought to go into the west end if u r coming by train there is a load of buses outside the station it only a 1mile away if there is a few of you it will be just as cheap to get a taxi ring blue line on 0191 2626666 be about £3 -£3.50

  4. It depends where in Elswick you want to go.  The number 1 goes along all of Westmorland Road, as a previous poster mentioned.

The top half of Elswick is covered by the 31 and also goes from the city centre.

Most local people are happy to point out where the bus stops are, so don't be afraid to ask.

Don't use the Metro - it doesn't go anywhere near there!
