Travelling from Nogales, Mex. to PananaCity,Panama by car via Pan Am HiWay. How many miles is it?

I would like to determine how many days of travel it is from Nogales, Mexico to Panama City, Panama via the Pan Am highway if travel about 400 miles per day. If you have additional info. about the trip or references to other sites, that would also be helpful.

1500 miles +/-  You may not be able to average 400 miles a day due to traffic,waiting time at the border crossings and weather, especially at some of the higher elevations(up to 15,000 ft.) etc.

You need to thoroughly research this trip as each country you enter and exit can have different rules/requirements/fees for entry/exit.Having everything required will help you to get through each crossing in a minimal amount of time.

From Mexico to Panama is only one small portion of the Pan-American highway and is called the Inter-American Highway.

You may want to think about joining AAA if you are not already a member.They can plan your entire trip.They have excellent up to date maps as well as current information concerning all aspects of  traveling the Inter-American Highway including border crossings, road conditions,safety hotels etc. Have a good trip!
