  1. Hi this is common question. The answer is here on my blog:

  2. Just be aware of your surroundings.

Also, stay in areas where there are other people around and don't go into any alleys. Try to stay in a group with other tourists if you can. It would help if you kept a professional driver (which is pretty cheap) or maybe a tour guide from a major local company. They also have shuttles going from hotels depending on where it is. Agra and Goa are pretty safe, but Mumbai you might have to watch out for.

And stay in the nicer hotels if you can afford it because they're a lot safer. You will be able to find American franchise hotels in the bigger cities of India such as the Quality inn, Sheraton, etc..Search them online before you go...

Also, don't eat any cold dairy products (I had some bad experiences with it), Ice cream may be ok, but make sure it's not old or anything. Some of the local restaurants are nice but ask your hotel clerk where are the best places to go. And wherever you go, try the local dishes that the place is famous for, you won't find it better anywhere else.

That's all that I can think of for now, Anyway, I hope you enjoy your trip, see new places, make new friends, and have fun!

  3. it is not safe for single woman  to travel alone in india, lots of rape happen in goa and rajasthan

  7. India is not a safe place at all for single women foreigners. Do not - do not - do not - go there alone - especially Delhi. Read the newspaper; and you'll find out how single women from abroad are robbed and raped. This Times link has more details about some incidents http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/wo...

If you are NOT a single young woman, India is a very, very safe place. Get someone to accompany you - then you don't need to worry much. Or wait till you get a boyfriend or a husband - then it's ok.

  8. oh i travel to india all by myself and have been doing so since I was 12.

India is an amazing place to visit, but do remember to NOT wear anything revealing. NO shorts, NO tank tops. But still, hire a guide to show you the major attractions and keep you safe. I don't want to scare you, but better safe than sorry.

    hope this helped

  9. First time to visit the place? If yes, I think much better to go there with family or friends. For safety...
