Question:

Travelling out of Canada with a laptop?

I'm travelling to Cuba by air and I was wondering if there is any special procedures needed for a laptop. I want to just keep it in my backpack. Do I need to declare it at customs at all? Bring proof of purchase? Any help would be great.

Thanks.

  1. CATSA recommends you pack a laptop in with your carry-on luggage instead of checked luggage.  If you are bringing spare batteries they must be packed with carry-on, not checked.

Other than that, there is nothing special to do.  I think it's pretty common these days for people to travel with laptops, and other electronic devices.
