Travelling to Belize?

Was thinking of going to Belize for a few months just to hang out on the beach and fish.

1) Where is the best laid back inexpensive place to hang out.

2) How much bang for a buck can I get? (US or Can$$) How much to rent something long term really cheap?

Try Caye Caulker , i was there some 20yrs ago, if you like snorkeling and fishing it is the place to go, there must be some less expensive place to stay but in general it is not cheap in Belize compare to Guatemala or Mexico,

Your question(s) are a little difficult to answer.

1) Where is the best laid back inexpensive place to hang out?

Wouldn't the answer to this question  be dependent on "your" definition/interpretation of "laid back" and "inexpensive"?

I know many people who think that the Riviera Maya and/or Cancun are laid back and inexpensive.

2) a. How much bang for a buck can I get? (US or Can$$)

    BELIZE ALTERNATIVE CURRENCIES:

US Dollars are widely accepted. British Pounds and Mexican Pesos can also be used.

2) b. How much to rent something long term really cheap?

Like Canada or the US, prices for rentals in Belize vary according to size, ammenities and location.Why not take a couple of weeks and check out the different districts of Belize to see which one you think would be the perfect place for you.
