  1. Tacos

  2. tequila, but i'm not sure if you can take it over the border.

  3. Go to Queretaro and buy opals.

  4. Kinder Sorpresa its a chocolate

  5. Cowboy boots and leather belts.

Boots are four to six times more expensive and belts here are 50--60% cheaper.  In fact all good quality Mexican leather lasts forever. Wholesale prices in quantity in leather goods is muy good.

    Free trade does not apply.

You may be able to with the belts if you import the buckles separately for assembly in Canada.  Talk to Canada customs before investing heavily.

Forget about smokes and booze , our Canadian government is very protective of that "Cash Cow" Mafia style protection. Its a good thing the money goes to good use.  Every time I take a drink I feel good about the fact that I must be helping someone.

You will need to seek out an English speaking contact , maybe in Guadalajara or D.F.to do business with.  Find a reputable factory and visit it, take a tour of the operation and you could do well with good quality leather goods.

If it were not for the language barrier we would be doing a lot more biz with Mexico.

Silver is another option. Taxco is your best bet.
