We are planning to travel to Munich, Prague, Berlin and Amsterdam. We have no more than two days at each location. We'd appreciate any advice on the most special things to see and do in each city.

P.S. We are non alcoholics - so drinking places advice would not be of much use :-)

  1. It sounds that you travel a lot. I have a wonderful link to a useful site / program to download:

    http://www.schmap.com/

You can look for the attractions online, but better: you can download the Schmaps, into a sort of interactive player (sorry, English isn't my native language) to use them offline. There are maps from a lot of places. You can select them individually or download all.

"Schmap Guides are brought to life offline by Schmap 2.0, a powerful desktop application that gives you a world of additional trip planning convenience, including options to take virtual tours and custom print full-color guides."

"We've schmapped 200 destinations throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand - just pick and click to get schmapping!"

Hope this helps you a bit!

  2. Amsterdam:  Anne Frank Home.   Rembraindt Museum.  Canal tour.

Only other city I went to was Koln, DE.   So, I'm not sure about the other cities.   The Dom in Koln was awesome.

  3. Amsterdam: Definitely go to the Van Gogh museum. Also go into a coffeeshop, not too close in the centre (if you hear English accents go someplace else :) and try some dope. It's legal and people will help you out.

  4. Prague has a lot to see in two days, but you should fit a lot in. Have a look at http.//www.fascinating-travel-destinatio... for some ideas and links.

The main areas are the Old Town with the Astronomical clock. Be there on the hour to watch it's magic. Then wander through the markets down to the Mala Strana, across Charles Bridge and up to Prague Castle. There is a lot to see in there.

Go to Wenceslas Square which is more the shopping area -the Narodne Museum is there too.You will find you can just drop into churches, museums, and other interesting buildings as you go.Try and go to the Jewish Cemetry, and the Petrin Tower is really good - if you are happy to climb lots of steps-266.You can catch a funicular up the hill to save your legs.

Vyshrad the fortress has a really fascinating cemetry with famous people such as Smetana and Dvorak. The church will ring its bells. The whole area is very nice park and has great views over the city.

The person below has mentioned the best things in Amsterdam.

And it so long since I was in Munich I mainly remember the beerfest!
